I am finishing my cruising time on Galileo and she is ready for more adventures with new owners.
Galileo is a meticulously maintained and extensively updated vessel.
During my ownership, I have strived to completely upgrade or repair all identified deficiencies to bring her to an outstanding and highly reliable level of quality systems, equipment and workmanship.
The US/Florida built Manta Catamaran Sailboats have an excellent reputation as proven, quality blue water cruising catamarans.
These yachts are known for their durable construction and excellent performance.
Mantas were specifically designed for owner live-aboard cruising and are rigged for easy single handling.
Manta owners are a very enthusiastic group of sailors dedicated to supporting their vessels through an extensive owners organization and information-sharing website.
The hallmark of the Manta fiberglass hull construction sets it apart from large-scale production brands of catamaran boats.
Manta hulls, decks, deck house, bulkheads and sole are made of tri-axial and bi-axial fab mat over Nida Core polypropylene core.
Resins used include polyester, vinylester and isophalic gelcoat.
The hull below the water line is solid fiberglass.
Safety is enhanced by two structural collision bulkheads in the forward section of each hull.
All construction is vacuum bagged to produce a strong, stiff structure.
Most production catamarans use inferior balsa or foam core in upper structures.
Recent upgrades and highlights Galileo has been repowered with new Volvo Penta DI-30 engines and sail drives.
Engines have 200 hours.
The mast and spars have been completely taken apart, hand-sanded and painted with awlgrip.
All sanitation hoses replaced and re-clamped throughout.
Sails added - a new main and stack pack and a new jib in 2020.
The addition of a DC watermarker installed in 2021, which runs efficiently on solar, made her completely cruise ready!
